Ahobilam Narasimha Swamy Temple, One among the 108 Divyadesams is situated on the top of the first range is referred as "Upper Ahobilam" and down below is known as "Lower Ahobilam".

Ahobilam means "Wonderful Cave". Among the nine temples, Six Temples are in situated in Upper Ahobilam and the remaining three temples are in Lower Ahobilam. The Utsava deity of Ahobila Narasimha Temple is seen at the Lakshmi Narasimha Prahalada Varadan temple at Lower Ahobilam. In a temple, Narasimha can be worshipped in Only One Form. Sri Ahobilam Narasimha Swamy Temple is the Main Temple among the Nava Narasimha Swamy Temples in Upper Ahobilam. This is the Holy Place where Lord Shiva prayed Narasimha. There is a small sanctum sanctorum of Lord Narasimha and a Shivalingam facing each other. Sanctum Sanctorum is inside a small cave where Lord Ahobila Narasimha blesses in a fierce aspect, Ugra Posture, tearing the chest of the demon Hiranyakashibu. Thayar blesses as Senjulakshmi in Padmasana Posture.

An idol of Prahalada is also seen inside the sanctum sanctorum. There are separate sannidhis for Sudarshana Murthy and Goddess Senjulakshmi. This is one among the 108 Divyadesams and Thirumangai Azhwar praised 10 Pasurams on Ahobilam and praised the place as "Singavelkundram" . When Sree Rama was searching for His abducted wife Sitadevi, came here and praised Lord Narasimha with "Panchamrutha Stotrams"..This rectangular shaped temple has two entrances, one in the east and the other one in west. Ugra Narasimha blessing facing east . Goddess Mahalakshi is on His Chest in the form of "Srivatsa".

Chatravata Narasimha Swamy is Gigantic here in 6 feet height, blessing with a Smile Face, holding Conch and Chakra and posing with Tala Mudra under a Peepal Tree. Hence, the name "Chatravata Narasimha Swamy". Chatra means Umbrella. Vata means Peepal Tree. Narasimha blessing with "Thala Mudra" in His Left Arm, which can be worshipped only here in this temple.

One Need to climb 127 steep steps and a jeep drive is needed as this place is rocky terrain amidst the thick forest. Lord Narasimha is blessing facing North with Four Hands, holding Sangu and Chakra and His remaining two arms tearing Hiranyakashibu by lying him on His lap.

Bhargava, familiarly known as Parasurama, worshipped Lord Narasimha Swamy here, "Bhargava Narasimha". Temple Theertham is "Akshaya Theertham" or Bhargava Puskarini. Prahaladha can be seen in a small form with Anjali MUdra near the left foot of Lord Narasimha here. An Unique feature of Murthy here is Prabhavali where images of Dasavathar are sculptured.

Sri Jwala Narasimha Swamy Temple, a cave temple is also known as  Achalachaya Meru . Lord Narasimha is Very Unique with 8 Arms. His two arms holding the head and legs of the demon king Hirankashipu on His lap, another two arms tearing open chest of the demon, two arms taking out the intestine of the demon and wearing it as His garland and the other two arms holding His Sangu and Chakra. There are idols Hiranyasamhara Lord Narasimha Swamy, an idol of Lord Narasimha emerging out of the pillar with Hirankashipu and Prahaladha standing either sides of the pillar and an idol of Blessing Lord Maha Vishnu.

Sri Malola Narasimha Swamy Temple, where Lord Narasimha Swamy blessing as "Shantha Murthy",  Soumyam, Graceful form. Malolan means beloved of Goddess Lakshmi. Ma means Mahalakshmi. Lolan means a beloved one. Goddess Mahalakshmi took birth in the Senju tribe as Senjulakshmi, to calm down Ugra Narasimha Swamy after His Hiranyavadham. She married Him and brought down His anger. Sri Kaaranja Narasimha Swamy Temple is just about one km from Upper Ahobilam, on the banks of "Papanasini River", where Lord Narasimha Swamy is blessing in His Sitting Posture with two lower arms in "Dyana Posture". His upper right arm holding the discus whereas His left upper arm holds a bow instead of Sankhu, Panjajanyam. Hence Lord Narasimha is also worshipped as "Sarnga Narasimha". Sarngam means a bow. He has Third Eye on the forehead. Adisesha spreading his hood as an umbrella above His head. Temple is under Karanja Vruksham, Pungai Maram in Tamil, hence the name "Karanja Narasimha. ".

Sri Paavana Narasimha Swamy Temple, situated on the banks of Pavana River, hence the name "Pavana Narasimha". Lord Narasimha here is blessing along with Goddess Lakshmidevi in His Sitting Posture in Sukhasanam with right leg dangling down where as the left leg is folded. He has four arms holding Sankhu and Chakra in upper arms, Abhayahastha Mudra on lower right arm and holding Chenchu Lakshmi, who is seated on His left lap, with left lower arm.
